Perform these simple checks yourself. No tools required.
1. Thermostat Setting
Did someone accidentally bump the dial? Ensure it’s set to medium or high cooling (usually 4-5).
2. Door Seal (Gasket)
The Paper Test: Close the door on a piece of paper. If you can pull it out easily, cold air is escaping.
3. Blocked Air Vents
Is a large vessel blocking the air vents at the back of the shelf? This stops cold air circulation.
4. Dirty Condenser Coils
Check the back/bottom of the fridge. If the black coils are covered in thick dust, the fridge can’t release heat.
5. Defrost Issue
Is there heavy ice buildup in the freezer? This blocks airflow to the fridge section. Try a manual defrost (turn off for 24 hours).
